O.A.R. will open the 2013 College World Series on June 14th

It’s hard to believe with the weather we’ve been having, but the 2013 College World Series is almost a month away!  This year’s opening ceremonies will be a bit different than previous years, with the musical act performing outside TD Ameritrade Park before the ceremonies inside the stadium.

Rockers O.A.R. will be this year’s live entertainment according to a new press release.  The band’s hit “This Town” is featured on ESPN’s TV coverage of the College World Series and has become somewhat of an unofficial theme song for the series.  The press release did not say where outside the stadium the band will perform, but we’re assuming a stage will be setup in one of the stadium’s parking lots.  No time was given either.

Following O.A.R.’s performance, the ceremonies inside the stadium will begin with the presentation of the teams, speakers, and a fireworks spectacular.  The 2013 CWS opening ceremonies will once again be free to the public and no ticket is needed.

It was also mentioned in the press release that the games will be played at 2pm and 7pm CST, which will be a huge sigh of relief to local fans attending weeknight games compared to last year’s late start times.  Also, fans with club access will now be allowed to drink wine and beer within the club lounge.  Drinks cannot be removed from the club and taken to their seats.

Justin Timberlake is returning to Omaha on February 10th, 2014 at the CenturyLink Center

Pop superstar Justin Timberlake announced his 20/20 Experience World Tour today and it includes a stop right here in Omaha at the CenturyLink Center on February 10th, 2014!  The massive tour starts this October and also includes stops in Phoenix and Las Vegas.  Omaha is currently the last scheduled stop on the tour, although additional dates will be announced soon.

The tour supports Timberlake’s first album since 2006, The 20/20 Experience.  This is also Justin’s first tour since 2007 when he made his last stop in Omaha on March 8th, 2007.  The new album has already been a massive success with huge hits like “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors”.  The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.  Timberlake has already announced there will be a sequel to The 20/20 Experience which is expected to drop on September 30th.

Today’s Omaha show was announced along with several other cities from Rock including Sioux Falls, Columbus, and Grand Rapids.  Kid Rock’s previously scheduled dates will take him to cities like Kansas City, Nashville, and New Orleans.

The country concerts keep coming to Omaha.  Jason Aldean has announced he’s coming to Omaha in 2013 as part of his “2013 Night Train Tour”.  When?  That’s a great question.  Although Aldean has announced an Omaha stop on the first leg of his tour, there is no specific date set.  Judging by a post of CenturyLink Center’s Facebook page, we’re assuming Jason Aldean’s show will be at the CenturyLink Center.  As soon as a date is announced, we will update this post.

Jason Aldean last performed in Omaha Jul 22, 2011 with the Red Sky Music Festival at TD Ameritrade Park.  His Omaha stop with the “My Kind of Party Tour” has a HUGE success and drew in country music fans from several surrounding states.

Since Aldean’s 2011 Omaha stop, his popularity has grown even more.  He currently has shows scheduled at top venues like Wrigley Field and Fenway Park.  Venues like these are typically reserved for the biggest of the biggest performers.  Jason Aldean’s new “Night Train Tour” will feature some of his biggest hits and also include songs from his latest album “Night Train”.  ”We’re already working on some cool production ideas, and we’re going to come back from the holidays ready to go.” says Jason Aldean about the upcoming tour.  Other stops in the first leg of the tour include Austin, Madison, and Houston.

Opening for Jason Aldean in Omaha will be Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett.  Jake Owen recently performed to a packed house at the CenturyLink Center for River City Roundup.  His hits like “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “Eight Second Ride” have quickly make Owen a big name in country music.  Thomas Rhett (son of Rhett Akins) is a country singer/songwriter who co-wrote Aldean’s ”I Ain’t Ready to Quit”.  Rhett is best known for his debut single “Something to Do with My Hands”.

Sad news to report today- Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle announced the Omaha Civic Auditorium and Music Hall will be closing in 2014.

The Omaha Civic has hosted countless events and was home to many teams including Creighton Men’s Basketball, the Omaha Lancers, and even NBA team Kansas City-Omaha Kings (now Sacramento Kings).

For concerts, the arena hosted many huge name acts like The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, and Elvis Presley.  Elvis’s Omaha concert was even filmed for a television special broadcast on CBS.  The Civic currently seats 10,960 for concerts and 9,300 for sporting events.

Most recently, events at the Civic included UFC and smaller concerts like Wiz Khalifa and Brantley Gilbert.  Currently, the only major concert event planned at the Civic Auditorium is the 2013 Winter Jam featuring Toby Mac on March 1st.

New arena development has taken its toll on the Civic over the past decade including the development of the CenturyLink Center, Mid America Center, and the most recent Ralston Arena.

Arguably the most active part of the Civic Auditorium is its Music Hall, a 2,400 seat theater which hosts concerts and theater productions.  Most recently, Jack White performed to a sold out crowd in the Music Hall.  Upcoming scheduled events at the Music Hall include Straight No Chaser (11/16/12) and Sesame Street Live (1/3/13 – 1/6/13).

No exact date in 2014 has been set for the closure, but the management company says Summer is the goal.  No word at this time what the land will be used for.  We will keep you posted with any updates to this story.

Taylor Swift’s opening act for the entire tour is 21 year old singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, who co-wrote and performed ”Everything Has Changed” with Swift on her new album.  Sheeran is a very popular artist in the UK.  Ed Sheeran is also well known as a song writer, writing songs of the extremely popular pop band One Direction.  Most recently, Sheeran toured the US opening for the band Snow Patrol.

Green Day postpones Omaha concert

Sad news to pass along… Green Day has postponed their Omaha date scheduled for February 4th, 2013 at the CenturyLink Center.  Green Day is rescheduling all of their 2013 shows in February due to the band’s lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong’s treatment for substance abuse.  The tour and Omaha concert is not cancelled, it is going to be rescheduled.  Tickets will be honored for the future date which the band promises to announce soon.

Rodney Atkins will open the new Ralston Arena Friday, October 19th.

The popular country Rodney Atkins will officially be the opening concert for the brand new Ralston Arena.  Rodney Atkins will perform at the brand new 3,500 seat arena on Friday, October 19th.

Rodney Atkins has had a lot of success in the country music world with hits like “If You’re Going Through Hell”, “Watching You”, “These Are My People”, and “It’s America”.  In 2006, Rodney Atkins won Top New Male Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music.  Country recording artist Kelleigh Bannen is scheduled to open.

Although there is no seating chart available (at the time of this article), the Ralston Arena’s Facebook says the show will be reserved seating.

The arena will also be the home of the Omaha Lancers hockey team and UNO Men’s Basketball.  Best of all?  Free parking!

Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena opening in September 2013.

While much smaller than Omaha, Lincoln is booking some pretty big events, and people in Omaha are taking notice.  Even if you ignore Nebraska Football, events in Lincoln are quickly becoming some of the most searched events on our website.

This year, Lincoln showed off their newly renovated amphitheater, the Pinewood Bowl.  This year’s season included large acts like Crosby, Stills, & Nash, Mumford & Sons, Counting Crows, BB King, Train, and My Morning Jacket.  Momford & Sons sold out the 5,500 capacity amphitheater.  Of course, the Omaha metro still has the awesome Stir Concert Cove at Harrah’s which continues to bring major acts to many sold-out crowds.  Barenaked Ladies sold out the over 3,500 capacity Cove.  Unfortunately, the Omaha metro does not have a true amphitheater that is utilized like the Pinewood Bowl.  We do have Westfair Amphitheater, although it is now only being used once or twice a year.  It also lacks reserved seating, which many major touring acts prefer (along with many concert-goers).  Westfair has taken a huge hit since music festivals like River Riot have moved to the Mid-America Motorplex in Glenwood.

Out of the blue, Lincoln’s Pershing Auditorium is being used during its last leg.  Currently booked at the Pershing is Mac Miller, Three Dog Night, Dayglow, Rob Zombie & Marilyn Manson, Larry the Cable Guy, and Celtic Thunder.  Larry the Cable Guy is currently the second most searched concert on our website behind Bruce Springsteen.    Currently, there are four concerts announced for the CenturyLink Center including Bruce Springsteen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Dunham.  If you throw in the Mid America Center’s Trans-Siberian Orchestra show, the Omaha metro has 5 arena shows announced compared to Lincoln’s 6 shows.  Of course, Omaha’s acts are much more popular than Lincoln’s acts.

Lincoln is currently building the Pinnacle Bank Arena which has an expected capacity of 14, 620 for concerts.  Omaha’s CenturyLink Center has an approximate capacity of 18,100 for concerts, while Council Bluff’s Mid America Center has a capacity of 8,000.  Will Omaha lose events to Lincoln when the Pinnacle Bank Arena opens in September of 2013?  The city of Lincoln sure thinks so, and the arena’s 36 suites have sold-out.  According to Lincoln newspaper, Journal Star, 19 of the 20 Loge boxes at the arena have also been sold.  The Pinnacle Bank Arena is managed by the powerful venue management group SMG.  SMG used to manage the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs until the MAC switched to Harrah’s Casino (Caesars Entertainment Corporation) this earlier year.

Knotfest 2012 Council Bluffs Review & Photos

Knotfest was a massive success yesterday in Council Bluffs.  The inaugural heavy metal music festival was the brainchild of the hugely popular band Slipknot and brought thousands of fans from all over the country.  Bands included Slipknot, Deftones, Lamb Of God, Machine Head, Serj Tankian, The Urge, Prong, and Dirtfedd.

Arguably, the highlight of the festival, was the return of Lamb of God, who’s lead singer Randy Blythe was recently released from a Czechoslovakian prison.  Last night’s show was the band’s first in months, and were recently added back to the lineup.  Machinehead (who was set to replace Lamb of God) lost power during the end of their show.  Slipknot ended the night with an impressive show as always.

Knotfest continues on to Minnesota tonight.  We hope after yesterday’s success, the Des Moines band decided to bring Slipknot back to the metro every year.  What did you think of the show?  Sound off in the comments below!

Jack White will not allow cameras at his Omaha show

Jack White will be performing Monday at the Omaha Music Hall to a sold out crowd.  The show sold out in minutes.  Apparently, Mr. White does not like photos being taken of him (or his band, his crew, his family and friends, and his tour equipment for that matter).  He also does not want his fans to “report” of his show on any social network.  Why you ask?  Well according to a Facebook post on the Omaha Civic Auditorium’s page, “Mr. White and crew like privacy and discreetness of touring.”  Apparently touring and performing in front of hundreds is a private matter.  Here’s the full post:

Trans Siberian Orchestra will be at the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs on November 15th

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will return to Council Bluffs at the Mid America Center on November 15th.  Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a holiday tradition for many families in the Omaha metro, and nationwide.  The Trans-Siberian Orchestra are pretty big fans of Omaha, and typically rehearse their show at the Mid America Center before launching their popular holiday tour.  This year is no exception, and Council Bluffs will see the first Trans-Siberian Orchestra show of the season.

This year, Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be performing their acclaimed rock opera, “The Lost Christmas Eve.”  Well known songs from the opera include “What Child Is This?” and ”O’ Come All Ye Faithful.”  Of course, there will be plenty of pyrotechnics, intense lights, and some violin headbanging.  What would a Trans-Siberian Orchestra show be without a little headbanging?

Popular ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham will return to Omaha at the CenturyLink Center February 7th, 2013.  Known as “America’s Favorite Comedian,” Jeff Dunham is known for his wacky characters including Walter, Peanut, José Jalapeño on a Stick, Bubba J, and Sweet Daddy Dee.  Jeff Dunham has appeared on Letterman, Leno, and has had many Comedy Central specials.  He also had a short-lived show on Comedy Central in 2009.

Jeff Dunham will be bringing his politically incorrect comedy show (along with his well-known “dummies”) to the CenturyLink next February.  Known for playing arenas, Dunham has a knack for making you feel like you’re in a more intimate comedy club rather than a large arena.  Tickets go on sale October 12th at all TicketMaster locations.  If you don’t get the tickets you’re looking for, we have plenty of tickets including the main floor, lower bowl, and upper bowl.

Bruce Springsteen will be back in Omaha November 15th at the CenturyLink Center

Bruce Springsteen will be back in Omaha at the CenturyLink Center on November 15th!  This will be Bruce Springsteen’s first visit in Omaha since he lasted performed at the CenturyLink Center (Qwest Center) in 2008.  Typically, The Boss performs in large venues in major markets.  We are lucky to be apart of his medium-sized venue “Wrecking Ball” tour.  Of course, Bruce Springsteen will be bringing along his E Street Band for his Omaha show.

If you haven’t seen Bruce Springsteen live, drop everything, and get tickets!  His high energy, all-american show consistently delivers, and sells out worldwide.  The Boss’s top hits include Born to Run, Born in the U.S.A., and Glory Days.  Of course, who here can forget his album Nebraska?  We hope he will perform Nebraska live in Omaha (if that makes sense)!

Def Leppard will play the Red Sky Music Festival July 21st

Well here it is, the 4th 3rd and final day of the Red Sky Music Festival.  The main acts are today are Def Leppard and Poison.  Once again, the music starts at the free Stage B with Chad Lee, Marcos & Sabor, Toy Box, Moonjuice, and Rock Paper Dynamite.  On the main stage inside TD Ameritrade Park, Lita Ford starts off the night at 7pm.  Following Ford, Poison will rock the park, and then Def Leppard.  This is one of our biggest rock shows of the year by far… we hope everyone enjoys!

Rascal Flatt’s Jay DeMarcus performs in Omaha at TD Ameritrade Park July 18th, 2012 for the Red Sky Music Festival.

Rascal Flatts performed quite the show at last night’s Red Sky Music Festival to some 14,000 fans.  Their ambitious setlist included most of their top hits like What Hurts the Most, Life is a Highway, Me and My Gang, Bless the Broken Road, and Summer Nights.  The Rascal Flatts also took live requests from the fans which included Mayberry, I’m Movin’ On, and Prayin for Daylight.

The high-energy show seamed a little too quick, but they still packed-in 17 songs.  After looking at other setlists from this tour, they cut a few songs.  Perhaps it was the heat.  They also cut their impressive intro into their new hit Banjo, which they opened the show with. Most importantly, Rascal Flatts fans appeared to love the show while singing and dancing to their hits.

Eden’s Edge opened the show, with a short set which included their hit, Amen.  Next up, was the Eli Young Band.  The Eli Young Band are quite the talented musicians, and captured the attention of the smaller group of fans who braved the early heat.  The crowd went nuts for their hit Crazy Girl.  Finally, Little Big Town really got the crowd warmed up for Rascal Flatts.  The popular band performed hits from their 5 albums including Pontoon, Boondocks, and Little White Church.  They also performed quite the impressive cover of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way.  Sounds weird, but it was pretty good.  For Rascal Flatt’s finale, the members of Eden’s Edge, Eli Young Band, and Little Big Town all joined the Flatts on stage to cover We’re An American Band by Grand Funk Railroad.

Mannheim Steamroller will perform in Omaha at the Orpheum Theatre on December 23rd, 2012.

There’s a heat advisory in Omaha today, but here’s some news that may cool you off!  Omaha-based Mannheim Steamroller will be bringing their extremely popular Christmas show home on Sunday, December 23rd, at the Orpheum Theatre.  Mannheim Steamroller is a holiday tradition for many around the country, but they will always be extremely popular in Omaha.

Founded by Chip Davis and Jackson Berkey, Mannheim Steamroller has recorded some of the most popular Christmas albums of all time.  Their Christmas albums include A Fresh Aire Christmas, Christmas in the Aire, Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Live, Christmas Extraordinaire, Christmas Celebration, Christmas Song, and Christmasville.  Omaha-native Chip Davis has built Mannheim Steamroller into quite the empire.  Their shows always impress, and we think they give a little extra to the Omaha crowd.

Mannheim Steamroller will perform an ambitious 90 shows this holiday season.  This will be their 27th year for their Christmas Tour.  According to their press release, last year’s Christmas tour ranked in the top 20 tours of the year.  Mannheim Steamroller’s Omaha show will be on December 23rd at 7pm at the beautiful Orpheum Theatre.  We have some of the best Mannheim Steamroller Omaha Tickets including main floor, box seats, and even balcony seating.  Happy Christmas in July!

TD Ameritrade Park Omaha home of the Red Sky Music Festival

Well, we are now in a heat advisory until 8pm!  It’s going to be pretty nasty at the first night of Red Sky Music Festival.  We just wanted to pass along a few tips and reminders.  Please note, for official policies, please check with TD Ameritrade Park officials or Red Sky’s website.

WATER
TD Ameritrade Park allows you to bring in an EMPTY 20oz or less clear plastic bottle for water.  They have water refill stations around Stage B and inside TD Ameritrade Park.  Bottled water is expensive inside the park, so try to bring in a bottle, or buy one at the park and refill it.  It’s going to be very hot, so PLEASE drink a lot of water!

WEATHER
It looks like we have a chance of storms today/tonight.  We hope they miss us!  Although the folks over at Ameritrade Park do allow you to bring in ponchos and small, standard umbrellas.  Just please try and be respectful to others with your umbrellas.  Try not to block other’s views and let’s not poke anyone’s eyeballs out.

CAMERAS
You can use your personal camera.  You cannot use a professional camera, which is a camera with a detachable lense.  Take this one seriously, because they will confiscate.

RECORDING/VIDEO
Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to record the shows with video or audio.   We are bummed about this also.  It’s a personal pet peeve when you pay an expensive ticket price, that you can’t take videos on your phone of your favorite songs.  Again, bummer.  Take this one seriously also, they will confiscate and they say your device won’t be returned.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
You can buy food and beverage at the park, but can’t bring anything in.  Again, you can bring in an EMPTY 20oz or less clear plastic bottle for water.

ALCOHOL
Obviously, you cannot bring in alcohol to the park.  They do sell alcohol at the park.  It’s quite pricey, but welcome to a music festival.  Be careful if you drink with this heat!

SMOKING
You cannot smoke inside the park.  There are designated areas outside the park.  Check with Ameritrade Park officials for locations and rules.

RE-ADMISSION
Once you leave, you’re not getting back in!

Finally, Red Sky officials ask you to not crowd surf or mosh.  They don’t care if you mosh with your friends at home to “What Hurts the Most.”  Don’t do it.  Okie dokie?

Again, these are just some basic tips and nothing official.  Please check with TD Ameritrade Park for specific questions and official policies.  Have fun, stay cool, don’t mosh, and we’ll see you at Red Sky!

The 2nd annual Red Sky Music Festival starts today!  The festivities start at 5pm with singer-songwriter, Logan Mize hitting Stage B.  The Farm will follow on Stage B at 6pm.  Admission to Stage B (outside TD Ameritrade Park) is free, even if you do not have a ticket to Rascal Flatts.

After you checkout the Stage B acts, head over to TD Ameritrade Park, Edens Edge takes the main stage at 7pm.  Following Edens Edge on the main stage, is the Eli Young Band at 7:30pm.  Next, country up and comers Little Big Town at 8:15pm.  Last, but of course not least, country megastars Rascal Flatts will take the main stage at 9:20pm.  Please note, all times are approximate and subject to change.  The gates to TD Ameritrade Park (main stage) open at 6pm.

Calling all WWE fans!  WWE will be back in Omaha one week from today (July 22nd) at the CenturyLink Center.  This time, it will be WWE Smackdown which is broadcast on SciFi Fridays at 7pm.  Wreslters scheduled to appear are Sheamus, CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, Kane, Christian, Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes, AJ, Sin Cara, and Ryback.  The WWE’s website does not that these superstars are subject to change, so no promises!  If you haven’t been to a live WWE event, you really should.  Whether or not you’re a wrestling fan, they actually are a lot of fun!

Nebraska Football’s Memorial Stadium in Lincoln

With this heat, it’s hard to believe football season is only a month and a half away.  The 2012 Nebraska Football Schedule will provide some awesome Big 10 match ups including UCLA, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Iowa.  There will be plenty of great games in Lincoln this year including Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Idaho State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State, and Minnesota.  This season’s Nebraska Football away games include UCLA, Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Nebraska’s new Big 10 rival Iowa.  Of course, we have hundreds of tickets ready for purchase in our Nebraska Football Tickets section for each and every Nebraska game.

SEPTEMBER NEBRASKA FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

The 2012 Nebraska Football season starts out Saturday, September 1st at 2:30pm against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.  The Nebraska Southern Miss game can be watched on ABC in the regional area, ESPN2 outside.  On September 8th, the Huskers head to Pasadena to play their first Big 10 game of the season against UCLA.  The UCLA will be broadcast on Fox at 6:30pm.  On September 15th, Nebraska heads back to Memorial Stadium to take on Arkansas State at 11am.  The game will be broadcast on one of the ESPN networks.  The Nebraska Football team will stay in town for the following Saturday, September 22nd, where they’ll battle Idaho State.  The time and broadcast information is still to be announced.  Wrapping up the month of September, the Huskers will play their third straight game in Lincoln.  This time, Nebraska vs. Wisconsin.  This game is  sure to be a huge draw for fans, and a hot ticket.  The Nebraska Wisconsin game will be broadcast at 7pm on ABC.

OCTOBER NEBRASKA FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

Nebraska Football starts the month of October off in Columbus, taking on Big 10 rival, Ohio State at 7pm on ABC October 6th.  Next up, Nebraska will head to Evanston, IL to take on Northwestern October 20th.  The time and broadcast have yet to be announced.  Wrapping up the month of October, the Huskers head back to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln to battle Michigan on October 27th.  The Nebraska Michigan game will be at 7pm on ABC.

NOVEMBER NEBRASKA FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

Isn’t it hard to think about November right now?  The final month of the 2012 Nebraska Football Schedule beings on November 3rd, with Nebraska taking on Michigan State.  The Huskers then head back to Lincoln to take on Penn State November 10th, and Minnesota November 17th.  Wrapping up the Nebraska Football regular season, the Huskers will head to new rival, Iowa on November 23rd at 11am.  The game will be broadcast on ABC.

The Rascal Flatts will perform July 18th at the Red Sky Music Festival

After a relatively slow Summer of live music, the Red Sky Music Festival is one week away with 3 nights of major headliners.  The 2012 Red Sky Music Festival features Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, and Def Leppard.  This year’s festival will also feature lesser-known acts on Stage B, which is free admission.  Ticket prices from our sellers so far have been quite low, with many tickets listed below face value.  It’s always tough for us to predict the market on events like Red Sky, so as we always say, if the ticket prices are low, buy them before they possibly go back up.

First up is Wednesday night (July 18th) with country super-stars, Rascal Flatts.  We won’t spoil it for you, but the Flatt’s set list will blow away most of their fans while they play some of their biggest hits.  Opening acts for the Rascal Flatts are Little Big Town, Eli Young Band, and Edens Edge.  Show starts at 7pm.  Stage B acts (free) start at 5pm and include Logan Mize and The Farm.

Brad Paisley Omaha July 20th at Red Sky Music Festival

As we previously reported, there will be no show on Thursday (July 19th).  As of now, it doesn’t even look like Red Sky will have it’s stage b open, but you should double check with Red Sky officials.  On to more positive news, headlining Friday night (July 20th) is country megastar, Brad Paisley.  If you haven’t seen Brad Paisley live (and you’re a country fan), we strongly recommend making this one.  His high energy show, along with chart-topping hits is sure to please any country music fan.  Opening acts for Brad Paisley are The Band Perry and The Lost Trailers.  The Lost Trailers hit the stage at 7pm.  Stage B (free) acts start at 3:30pm and feature Belles & Whistles, Crossfire, Charlie Worsham, and Kristen Kelly.

Last, but certainly not least, Def Leppard wrap up the Red Sky Music Festival Saturday night (July 20th).  Def Leppard are a classic rock staple, and after seeing them at the Qwest Center a few years ago, I can say they can still rock.  Opening for Def Leppard, is the classic hair band, Poison.  For this show, we have heard from a lot of people who are just as excited (if not more) to see Poison.  Although I have yet to see them, I have heard from many fans they put on a killer show.  Also opening for Def Leppard is Lita Ford.  The Stage B acts for Saturday start at 1:30 and include Marco & Sabor, Toy Box, Moonjuice, and Rock Paper Dynamite.

We hope everyone enjoyed the 2012 Olympic Swim Trials photos from a few days ago.  We would like to also share some great videos from our team taken the final night of the Omaha Swim Trials on July 2nd, 2012.  Features from the Swim Trials night were Jessica Hardy & Kara Lynn Joyce taking the Women’s 50m Freestyle.  Andrew Gemmell took 1st in the 1,500 freestyle with Connor Jaeger taking 2nd.  Michael Phelps & Missy Franklin received the top honors of the 2012 Olympic Swim Trials receiving special awards during the closing ceremonies.  Of course, the night ended with the closing ceremonies which included the entire 2012 Olympic Swim Team including Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Missy Franklin, Natalie Coughlin, Nathan Adrian and Jimmy Feigen!  Let us know what you think of the videos!

Kid Rock performs at the 2011 Red Sky Music Festival

With the Red Sky Music Festival only two and a half weeks away, they have finally announced the Stage B acts.  Unlike last year, there will only be one outside stage, unlike last year’s two stages.  Unlike last year, admission to Stage B is free to everyone.  You will still need a ticket to that evening’s headliner in TD Ameritrade Park.  As of now, Red Sky has yet to announce a headliner for July 19th, and no Stage B acts have been announced for the day either.  UPDATE: Red Sky has announced there will be NO headliner Thursday, July 19th.  Yikes!  The headliners include Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, and Def Leppard (with Poison).

Pretty Lights Council Bluffs

The hugly popular DJ, Pretty Lights, will be in Council Bluffs at the Westfair Amphitheater August 25th!  Pretty Lights (Derek Vincent Smith) is an extremely popular electronic artist who describes his music as Electro Hip-Hop Soul.  Pretty Lights will be performing under the stars at the awesome Westfair Amphitheater.  Although the amphitheater has not been used much lately, it is still a great venue and the area’s largest outdoor amphitheater.  Pretty Lights Council Bluffs should make for a fantastic night of music under the stars.  Pretty Lights performed to thousands in Lincoln at the Pershing Center in Lincoln, and received fantastic reviews.  It was been almost two years since Pretty Lights has performed in Omaha.

Jackson Browne Omaha Orpheum Theatre
